Kathryn van Vugt
(ABWA Reg. 3077) M.Arch, B. Applied Science (Arch), B.Ed (Secondary) B.A (History)
Our most recent addition, Kathryn graduated with her Masters from Curtin in 2012, and gained registration in 2017. At the completion of her studies in 2012, she was awarded with the E.G Cohen Medal from the Australian Institute of Architects, recognising her as a top graduate. Kathryn comes to us with a wealth of experience in car showroom and industrial warehouse design as well as experience in civic design. In addition to her architectural studies, she also holds bachelor degrees in both education and history.
An outdoorsy type, Kathryn ‘enjoys’ exploring new hiking spots with her fiancé and their dog Shadow. At home, she tries her hand at gardening with varied levels of success and has been intending to restore a couple of 1950’s concrete planters that she inherited from family. A fan of taking pleasure from the simple things, Kathryn enjoys a good feed at her local pub and enjoys watching the willy wagtails in her birdbath over a morning coffee. Her ideal home would be a self sufficient cabin with views to the stars. In recent times she’s been experimenting with the process of hand making lace and taken an interest in the works of local artist Anya Brock.
